DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACY

The Department of Pharmacy offers a Two Years course leading to Diploma in Pharmacy of the State Board of Technical Education, Haryana based on annual system and approved by The Pharmacy Council of India and A.I.C.T.E.

The Department has following well maintained and equipped laboratories.

  1. Pharmaceutics Lab

  2. Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab

  3. Bio-Chemistry and Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy Lab

  4. Physiology and Pharmacognosy Lab

  5. Pharmacology Lab

In addition to the above laboratories machine room, museum, balance room, aseptic room, animal house, pharmacognosy & well stacked library are also available.

The institute has a well developed pharmacognosy garden with a modest collection of medicinal plants with a view to give the students a first hand experience with regards to cultivation, identification and collection of these plants.

To acquire higher education, passed out diploma in pharmacy studentshave seats reserved for them in B.Pharma II Yr. in some degree institutions.

Diploma holders from the Pharmacy Department have following employment opportunities.

  1. As registered Pharmacist in Govt./Public Sector & Private hospitals/dispensaries.

  2. Retail and whole sale of drugs.

  3. Manufacture of cosmetics.

  4. Re-packing of drugs & pharmaceuticals.

  5. Medical representative


 

DEPARTMENT OF FOOD TECHNOLOGY

Govt. Polytechnic, Mandi Adampur has the privilege of having Department of Food Technology in Haryana, which has witnessed tremendous gallop of development from its infancy to well furnished adulthood. The department which started its operation in 1995, runs a three years diploma programme in Food Technology which is the hot property for various Food Processing Industries throughout the country and abroad. Keeping in mind the various innovative practical and theoretical aspects of Food Technology, the department has well developed and fully equipped labs viz :-

  1. Food Analysis Lab

  2. Food Microbiology Lab

  3. Food Processing Lab

  4. Machine Room

These labs are meant to train students in various technical and practical

aspects of their course. Matriculate can apply for the admission in the department.

The full fledged facilities and energetic staff members are taking the department well on highway of progress which leads to good output of food professionals finding a good responsible job in corporate/private sector. The students have achieved good positions in food industries based on fruits and vegetables processing, milk processing, cereals processing, beverage etc. These students having professional and technical knowledge can start their own entrepreneur or can manage any established food industry.

Currently the due attention of centre and state govt. towards the food processing sector will definitely bring more placement prospects to this sector. Since it is the sole polytechnic institute in Haryana providing this diploma, private and corporate food industries are looking forward to this department to meet their technical demands.


 

DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL MANAGEMENT

The Department of Industrial Management was started in 1985 i.e. right from the inception of this institution. This is a three year diploma in Industrial Management having specialisation in Human Resource Management & Marketing Management. It is unique as it is the only Diploma level Management course in India approved by A.I.C.T.E.

This course aims to fill up the middle level management position in Industrial and Corporate Houses. The Govt. of Haryana has approved this course as one of the mandatory qualification for the post of Labour Welfare Officer.

The entry qualification for this course is Senior Secondary from any stream. Admission is made on the basis of Diploma Entrance Test (Management ) usually conducted in the month of April / May. The seats allotted are 30.

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

Department of Electronics & Communication Engg. was established in 1994 under World Bank project with an intake of 60 students per year. It follows semester system.

Department has fully equipped six laboratories with adequate facilities.

  1. Microprocessor Lab

  2. Electronic Devices & Circuits Lab

  3. Communication Lab ( for conducting practical in the field of microwave )

  4. Digital & Analog Communication Lab

  5. Electronic Manufacturing Practice Lab (for fabrication and designing of PCB).

  6. Electrical Lab

 

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING

Computer Engineering Department was established in 1994 under World Bank Project. Department is fully equipped with latest configuration computers along with Novell Netware platform. Department has 60 computers with latest configuration. Department has the facilities of multimedia system and established Internet. Department has five fully developed labs viz.

  3. Network Lab

  4. Computer Hardware Lab

  5. Microprocessor Lab

The department with the help of electronics department has PCB designing lab. The department also takes keen interest for the placement of students in industries as well as for their further studies. Duration of diploma in Computer Engg. is three years with intake of 60 students. The entry level in diploma course is matric.


 

DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Information Technology Department was established in 1999 with an annual take of 40 students. The scheme follows semester pattern. At present the department is sharing facilities with Computer Engineering department. The curriculum consists of latest software packages viz. C, OOPS, JAVA, ORACLE, DBMS, UNIX , WEB designing, INTERNET, E-Commerce etc. The entry level in diploma course is matric.

In the present scenario of globalisation , I.T. is going to be the booming stream. Thus it will not be an exaggeration to say Information Technology as the leader technology of all the technologies.


 

COMMUNITY POLYTECHNIC

Introduction & Purpose of Community Development Cell

C. D. C. , the centre for Community Development was established in 1996 at Govt. Polytechnic, Mandi Adampur. This scheme is funded by The Ministry of Human Resource Development Govt. of India. The main aim of C.D.C. is to upgrade existing skill, improving self employment of rural youth & other weaker sections of the society through competency based non formal training and improving the quality of life by adopting multi-dimensional approach. The major areas of activities and training identified under C.D.C. are :-

  1. Human Resource Development :- So far C.D.C. has trained 1335 youths in various trades at the main centres and extension centres under Human Skill Development Programme. Training is being imparted in following trades / courses.

Each course of six months duration have been run / are running in

about 20 villages around Mandi Adampur. The entry qualification depends upon the instructional requirement of the course concerned.

  1. Transfer of Technology :- C.D.C. has contributed significantly in transfer of appropriate technologies to rural areas like Solar Canteen, Solar Cooker, Smokeless Chullah etc. The technologies like low cost green houses, Mashroom cultivation & Bee keeping are proposed to be transferred in near future.

  2. Technical Services :- These services are provided to the villagers through main and extension centres which are established in various villages. These services are provided with the help of the students under going training in various courses.
  3. Technical Support Services :- C. D. C. helps in maintenance of technology which have been transferred in villages.
  4. Dissemination of information :- C.D.C. helps in sharing information with rural people for the betterment of folk life.

 

DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED SCIENCES

 

The staff in Applied Sciences and Humanities Section imparts instructions in the subjects of English, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics and Applied Chemistry to students of various disciplines for the first two semesters. The staff looks after the interests of the students completely in the first year of their study and also provides active support to promote extra curricular activities.


 

LEARNING RESOURCES UTILIZATION CELL

This institute has the full fledged Learning Resources Utilization Cell, which is equipped with modern educational facilities like Automatic Slide Projector, Over Head Projector, Film Projector, Video Cassette Player, Color Televisions etc. The cell possesses more than 200 educational films which are regularly provided to the students of various departments along with other audio visual aids.


TRAINING & PLACEMENT CELL

Training & Placement Officer looks after the Training & Placement work of the students and arranges visits to industries and also involves field staff / experts for delivering extension lectures. He also organizes Campus Interviews either in Polytechnic or in the Campus of the industry. Passed out students of this Polytechnic are quite successful in securing good jobs in various organizations or are self employed.

The polytechnic has produced large numbers of competent technicians who have found employment in various sectors of Industry located at Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Yamuna Nagar, Bahadurgarh, Sonepat, Hisar, Pehwa, Chandigarh, Parwanu, Mohali, Dharuhera, Bhiwari & in all important industrial areas of Northern region.
