Mandi Adampur is a Tehsil of District Hisar. As its name reflects, this is the biggest cotton Mandi in Northern India. Mandi Adampur has gifted world renowned entrepreneurs and politicians .

Historical Prospective

Government Polytechnic, Mandi Adampur ( Hisar ) was established under the name of The Govt. Institute of Management & Pharmacy in the year 1985 with one diploma course i.e. Industrial & Personnel Management with an intake of 30 students in one wing of F.G.M. Post Graduate Govt. College, Adampur. Diploma in Pharmacy was introduced in the year of 1987. The institute shifted to its newly constructed building, adjacent to F.G.M. Govt. College on Bhadra road in November, 1991 and its name was changed to Govt. Polytechnic in the year 1996. Diploma in Computer Engg. and Electronics were started in the year 1994, where as Diploma in Food Processing / Technology was introduced in the year 1995. Recently Diploma in Information Technology has been introduced w.e.f. from the session 1999 – 2000. At present the institution is running six diploma
