DEPARTMENT OF PLASTIC TECHNOLOGY

The age of history can be given as Stone Age, Metal Age & Plastics Age As the above signifies the modern age is Plastics age. All the commodity items, engineering items are being substituted by Plastics. From the morning to the night, the things we use, there is some Plastics material involved in it. Taken into consideration the growing demand of Plastics many institutes in India started three year diploma & four year degree programmes in the field of Plastics Egg. & Tech.C.R. polytechnic is one of above institute which is imparting Three year diploma after matric. The Institution is affiliated to state board of Technical Education, Haryana, chandigarh.During the course the students are given live exposure specially in the field of Plastics Processing, in addition to this the students are also taught & trained in Plastics testing & quality control, Plastics mold design &Plastics Product Design. No doubt that chemical engg. Are the basics of Plastics Tech. So students are also taught basics of unit Operations and Unit processes. The students after completion of Diploma course can take direct admission in the second year of four year degree course.

The Plastics Technology department was established in the year 1997 and was covered under World Bank scheme. The intake of students in1997 was 25 which were further increased to 40 in the year 1999. At present the department has three labs which are equipped with latest processing and testing equipments.
