LEARNING RESOURCES UTILIZATION CENTRE
The need for improving the quality and instructional system in the polytechnics in order to produce high quality technician and supervisors matching with changing scenario in their places of work is undisputed. The Learning Resources Utilization Centre was established in 1994-95 to make the teaching learning process more effective and relevant to the technological advances under the World Bank Project.
The various equipments in this center which cater to the needs of the students are overhead projectors, DVDs, VCD, TV, VCR, Models, Charts, Digital Camera etc.
INDUSTRY INSTITUTE INTERACTION CELL
An Industry Institute Interaction Cell was established in 1994-95 at this polytechnic to fill up the gap between the existing demands in industries and knowledge being imparted in the polytechnic. The industries are required to participate in the technical education programme with a view to gain the advantage of cross fertilization of ideas for better improvement of the system. This cell also mentally prepares the out going students about the challenges they may have to face in their real life.
Objective of Industry Institute Interaction Cell
- To improve the quality of technical education adequately to meet the needs of the industry and economy. Technical education system should operate to optimum efficiency and deliver quality product to employers.
- To enlist participation of industry in Technical Education Programmes, with a view to gain the advantage of cross fertilization of ideas for system improvement.
- To optimize the deployment of physical and human resources of institutions and industries in the pursuit of development of technical manpower.
- To integrate industrial training and other inputs from the industry with the teaching learning processes so as to develop in the students.
- To acquaint teachers with the expectations of industry especially from post liberalization and fast changing, working environment in the industry, need of student orientation to industrial disciplines and current industrial practices and their integration in technical education and their implementation aspects.
- To acquaint the industry with the existing programmes of technical education and their implementation aspects.
- To involve the working professional in teaching and management of institutions.
- To offer research, development, consultancy and testing services to solve industrial problems.
- To offer growth oriented training programmes to working personnel from industry and to assist the industry in the selection of suitable candidates to fill up job positions through campus interviews and other selection procedures.
- To collaborate with the board of apprenticeship Training and industry for the training and placment of institute pass outs.
- To get feed back on institute pass outs from employers and involve them in design and review of curricula.
- To share the experience and expertise between institutions and industry for mutual benefit.
- To develop good work culture in students.
- To organize need based staff development programmes.
- To organize extension lectures by experts from industry.
- To promote entrepreneurship in technical education.
